The Heritage Gallery is celebrating after reaching a milestone number of visitors this April.

Local resident Elisabeth Barton was the 20,000th visitor through the doors, marking the occasion with a celebratory presentation from the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Joanne Potter. Mrs Barton was also presented with a £50 gift card from The Mall to celebrate her momentous visit.

Since their opening in Obelisk Way at The Mall, Camberley in January 2013, The Heritage Gallery has displayed a wide selection of exhibitions from 45 groups and societies, including the Surrey Heath Museum. The Gallery opens from 11am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, with weekly Thursday Lunchtime Talks at 12.30pm.

Mike Hillman, Chairman of the Surrey Heath Museum Action Group thanked the Mall Management for their public spirited generosity in continuing to provide the facilities for the Gallery and for their donation of the gift card. He gave thanks to the Mayor for accepting their invitation to present the gift card to Mrs Barton and praised the band of volunteers who regularly man the Gallery.

Joana Santos, Marketing Manager at The Mall, Camberley, said “We’re thrilled The Heritage Gallery has welcomed their 20,000th visitor this April, after three successful years at The Mall. The Heritage Gallery is always popular with our shoppers, continuing to provide a fascinating exhibition to learn what is happening in Surrey Heath.”
