‘Sweet 16’ for Frimley Lodge Park and its Green Flag Award success

Frimley Lodge Park in Frimley Green has been officially rated among the UK’s best - for the 16th year in a row!

The park has once again met the high standard needed to receive the Green Flag Award, the national quality mark for parks and green spaces.

Managed by Keep Britain Tidy, the awards are judged by green space experts, who visit applicant sites and assess them against eight strict criteria, including horticultural standards, cleanliness and community involvement.

Owned and maintained by Surrey Heath Borough Council, Frimley Lodge Park attracts a large number of visitors with its vast open spaces, picnic areas, pitch and putt course and children's playgrounds; as well as miniature railway and barbecue and private hire areas.
Other attractions include the recently refurbished café serving freshly prepared food, a 3G all-weather football pitch, and traditional football and cricket pitches.

The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr John Winterton, said: “Frimley Lodge Park is such a popular and beautiful green space, which we are very lucky to have in Surrey Heath.

“It certainly is a case of ‘sweet 16’, with the park securing this impressive feat for the same number of years running. I would like to congratulate all those involved in its upkeep.”

Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “All the flags flying this year are a testament to the efforts of the thousands of men and women, both staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”
