Say goodbye to Ham & Blackbird Farnborough

The Ham & Blackbird is an old building situated on the roundabout of the A331 to Farnborough. A planning application to demolish the pub and build 62 flats on the site, has been refused by Rushmoor Council.

It a shame to see so many Pub's closing down as this would be the fourth within less than a year in Farnborough, our history is slowly disappearing over time and it would be nice to see re-developers keeping the style and look and just make the building work as something else like there did with the Tumble Down Dick.

The age of the pub, it has been there since at least 1873, commensurate with the arrival of the Victorian railway, previously known as New Inn and Railway Hotel. We still researching on it history so if you know any more details on this please email us info@camberleynet.co.uk and we keep this post updated.

It has been rebranded to its  name in the Slug and Lettuce style by Beefeater and then later the pub was formerly owned by Whitbread however Siya Properties, owners of The Falcon Hotel in Farnborough, took over ownership in 2010.

We like to know more about Ham & Blackbird so if you know any information history Photos and you would like to share please email us info@camberleynet.co.uk as we do like to update all our post with a full history details and to share with others.
