Man injured in Farnborough after a ‘scuffle’ with two men

Police are appealing for witnesses after the victim was allegedly hit on the back of the head on Saturday

A man suffered injuries to his head, hands and face in Farnborough in an attack on Saturday.

Hampshire Constabulary officers have appealed for information on the incident, which occurred as the 27-year-old was walking home from work.

The victim, who was talking on his phone from his earpiece at the time, turned right off Beta Road into an alleyway near Oakfield playing fields where a young woman was sat down with a man.

The man questioned him about what he was saying, before demanding that he hand over his phone. There was then a scuffle.

The man managed to escape to Beta Road, where he was then confronted by another man who hit him on the back of the head with an unknown implement.

The original offender is thought to have driven off in a car with the woman and the other man walked away.

Detective Tracy West said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any part of this incident. The woman is understood to have been visibly upset by what was happening. Did you see her?

“I would also like to speak to anyone who saw a dark-coloured Peugeot car driving in the area at the time of the incident.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44150079105, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
