Surrey Heath Borough Council is excited to announce that enhancements to Camberley’s Main Square Car Park are continuing, with the installation of new eco-friendly car wash facilities.
The council has granted a new lease to Hampshire-based car cleaning company Urban Car Spa, who operate the car wash based on the 3rd floor.
The eco-friendly cleaning solution requires no water supply or pipework to be installed. It will save 40 litres of water per wash compared to a pressure washer.
Director of Urban Car Spa, Jonny Rees-Davies, said: “Urban Car Spa is a company that aims to make a difference. The company has been set up to help ex-armed forces personnel to reintegrate back into society having left the forces. It will give them a much needed stepping stone to employment in local life, or even a permanent home if they so wish.”
Surrey Heath’s portfolio holder for business Cllr Craig Fennell said: “We want to make Surrey Heath an even better place where people are happy to live. This new service will help provide opportunities for employment, increase convenience for shoppers and improve Camberley’s visitor experience.”
The eco-car wash follows improvements earlier in the year at Main Square Car Park, which include adding extra wide parking bays and marked pedestrian walkways on Level 4, a complete refurbishment to the first of three lifts, refurbished stairwells and clearer signage.
Work on the other two lifts will start in the new year, following the busy Christmas period to reduce the impact on customers at this busy time.
