Dad helps deliver baby on A325 in Frimley

One baby refused to wait for traffic on the A325 in Frimley, leaving dad to help mum with the delivery en route to the hospital.

The couple were on their way to hospital when they got stuck in traffic just north of Church Road between Station Road and the roundabout near Waitrose.

With the woman heavily in labour and no time to pull over they were forced to block the road around 8.15am.

Police officers helped direct traffic around the vehicle, while the father-to-be received help with the delivery from the ambulance service over the phone.

An off duty midwife was also on hand to help.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the woman gave birth in the car.

A paramedic then joined the family in the vehicle as they made their own way to Frimley Park Hospital.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said both mum and baby were doing well at the time.
