On Saturday 31st October, Camberley Park Street will play host to the second Poppy Launch Day in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Starting at 10 am on Park Street the event will feature entertainment and displays from local Stagecoach Theatre Group, Camberley Martial Arts and Liberty Gymnastics clubs plus other attractions. There will also be a static display of vintage military vehicles, motor bikes from the Riders Branch of the Royal British Legion and other static displays are being discussed.

At 10.50 a parade of the Royal British Legion Standard Bearers, the Royal British Legion Brolly Ladies , Sea cadets/Army Cadets/ATC and representatives from the scouting organisations, will march the length of Park Street accompanied by the Deepcut Army Cadet Band. At 11am the RBL exhortation will be given by the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Joanne Potter followed by a 30 seconds silence. The Mayor will then officially open the Poppy Launch of 2015.

The fun will then continue for the rest of the day featuring a multitude of singers, dancers and performers who will be giving up their time to give you a good time and hopefully encourage you to give generously to this great cause.

Camberley Royal British Legion Chairman, David Kemp said “The Camberley Royal British Legion has been extremely successful over the years in raising money for the Poppy Appeal and the amount raised for 2014/15 has surpassed all previous collections reaching over £45000 which is a tremendous effort by all involved. We’ve really pulled out all the stops to provide something for everyone and I would like to thank all of the organisations and individuals that are giving up their time to make, what is sure to be a fantastic day possible”.
